PIERRE, (KCCR) –An Eagle Butte man has been identified by the South Dakota Highway Patrol as the person killed in a pedestrian/vehicle crash Friday morning in Pierre. The crash happened on North Euclid Avenue around 9:45 am. A 2010 Dodge Caravan was traveling north on Euclid Avenue between East 1st and East 2nd Streets when the driver, 57 year-old Keven Karl Klein of Pierre suffered a seizure and blacked out at the wheel. The van drifted off the road to the right where it struck 60 year-old Rocky Lane Bowker before crashing through fencing and into a nearby apartment building. Other than the medical issue that caused the crash, Klein was not injured and was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash. The Pierre police, Hughes County Sheriff and Pierre Fire Department assisted the Highway Patrol at the scene.
