Stanley County at Cheyenee-Eagle Butte for Region Tournament Game

While the Stanley County Buffaloes will be the home team in the contest, the Buffs will still travel to Cheyenne-Eagle Butte School to face the Crow Creek Chieftains in the first round of the Region 6A tournament.

The Buffs are the number three seed in the tournament at 13-7 and just missed the second seed and unfortunately won’t get a home playoff game without an upset in the Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, Miller contest. Because the Braves are the second seed, they get to host both matchups on the evening for the first round of the region tournament just like McLaughlin will host its contest against North Central and the 4-5 matchup between Mobridge-Pollock and Dupree.

And while Stanley County is the higher seed, the Buffs lost to Crow Creek earlier this season 84-75 at Crow Creek on January 25. Since the lost, Stanley County has rattled off seven wins in a row. Meanwhile Crow Creek is at 8-12 and have lost five of eight to close the year.

Tip off from Cheyenne-Eagle Butte school is at 6:30 Central Time tonight. The winner advances to Friday’s SoDak 16 qualifying game against either Cheyenne-Eagle Butte or Miller.
