Then on Sunday, the Caps would travel to Sioux Falls facing West to close the season. Oahe would take the lead first with a Barret Schweitzer goal, but a last minute goal in the first tied the game at 1-1 and West would score twice early in the second to lead 3-1. Dozark would pull the Caps within 3-2 but it would be the Flyers again scoring early in the third and even though it was matched quickly by Beck to pull within 4-3, Oahe never found the tying goal in the final 14 and a half minutes of the third period. Anderson made an incredible 40 saves in net for the Caps as the season ends with a 12-8-1-1 record and a fifth seed heading into the state tournament.
