The Pierre Governor basketball teams will finish the regular season tonight as the Governor girls will be hosting the Roosevelt Roughriders while the boys will travel to Roosevelt High School in Sioux Falls.
For the Governor girls, they face a Roosevelt team sitting below them in the standings as the Roughriders are clinging to a spot and hope they can make the SoDak 16 next week Friday. Roosevelt is flirting with the 16 seed, but for them, even a loss shouldn’t knock them down much at all. For the Govs, it’s the last chance to pick up one more win and be ready for the SoDak 16 at home next week. Pierre can put a bow on the regular season with a strong win.
The Governors boys have one final chance for a big seed point win. With the Roughriders over .500 and above the Govs in the standings, a win will gain confidence and try etch the Governors just a little bit closer to get a more favorable SoDak 16 game next week Saturday. Pierre will have to do so on the road to get the job done.
Tip off of both games will be at 7:00 with the girls game at Riggs High School and the boys game at Roosevelt High School. The season will end Saturday and the SoDak 16 will be paired by the end of the weekend.
