Both the Bantam A and Bantam B Oahe Capitals teams will be in the state tournament this weekend as the B team will travel to Rapid City while the Bantam A team will host the state tournament.
Bantam A
The Capitals Bantam A team will get the opportunity to host the Bantam A state tournament this weekend which will start on Friday and the Caps will face the Aberdeen Cougars in the 4-5 matchup. Oahe finished the season splitting with Yankton last weekend and Sunday’s win jumped the Miracle over Aberdeen for third. Puck drop is at 5:00 on Friday.
Bantam B
The Bantam B team will travel to Rapid City and be the four seed taking on the five seed Aberdeen in the first round of the tournament. With a seven team tournament, the Capitals are already guaranteed to be in the fifth place game at worst as a loss gives them a bye into the consolation championship. If the Caps win, they know they’ll face Brookings, the top seed, in the semifinal round. Oahe opens the tournament playing at 2:00 on Friday at the Thunderdome in Rapid City.
Both tournaments run Friday through Sunday this weekend with only Girls Varsity and boys JV next weekend and boys varsity the following weekend to close the hockey season.
