The Oahe Capitals would score four first period goals and a sealing goal in the final minutes of the third period to beat the Yankton Bucks 5-3 Saturday night on Senior night.
Down 2-1 midway through the first period, Dylan Dodson would swat a puck out of mid air and score to the tie game at 2-2 after Ayden Behm did a tremendous job of juggling the puck at the blue to keep the play onsides. Then, 40 seconds later Aiden Dozark would score from inside the faceoff circle to give the Caps a 3-2 with only 10 seconds later Devin Dodson scoring again to make it a 4-2 lead. The score would hold until late in the third win the Bucks would get back within a goal, but Dozark’s second of the game would seal the win for the Caps. Spencer Anderson made 11 saves on 14 shots.
The Capitals are now 10-6-1-1 and will face Yankton again today in the final home game of the regular season. Coverage will start around 3:00 with puck drop at 3:30 on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
