Thunder Barrage of Goals Help Roll Capitals

The Rushmore Thunder had two first minute goals and a last second goal in the first period en route to a 10-2 drubbing of the Oahe Capitals on Friday night in Rapid City.

The Caps couldn’t sustain offensive pressure throughout the night and with a 1-0 lead in the final seconds of the first period, the Thunder would score in the final second to take a 2-0 back breaking lead which became 3-0 in the first minute of the second period. Rushmore would get another first minute goal in the third leading to a 5-0 advantage before Jarron Beck would intercept a pass and score to make it 5-1. Aiden Dozark would also score making it a 6-2 game, but a six goal third period was enough for the Rushmore Thunder to improve to 17-3 and drop the Capitals to 9-6-1-1 on the year.

Oahe will be back at home on Saturday and Sunday to face the Yankton Bucks with puck drop at 6:00 on Saturday and 3:30 on Sunday. Coverage of both games will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
