Stanley County Girls Finish Season with Little Wound in Doubleheader

It’s the final game of the year for the Stanley County Lady Buffaloes as the basketball teams will travel to face Little Wound tonight on the road.

The Lady Buffs are locked into the eight seed and will face Mobridge-Pollock in the first round of the Region tournament on Tuesday of next week. Tonight, the Lady Buffs want to end the regular season with a win and confidence heading into to face the Tigers for the second time in a week. The Lady Buffs at 2-17 face Little Wound at 11-8 and are in third in the 7A standings. The Lady Mustangs had its seven game win streak snapped on Tuesday in a loss to the Todd County Falcons.

The Stanley County boys team will be playing its final road game of the season tonight taking on Little Wound. The Buffs will also play on Monday at home against Lyman to wrap up the season, but for the Buffs two wins gives them a shot at taking the two seed in Region 6A, but will need a little bit of help. Little Wound sits in fifth place at 7-10 with two games to play. Just like the girls, the Mustang boys ended a streak, but this was stopping a losing streak. A win over Bennett County ended its six game skid heading into tonight.

Tip off of the girls game is scheduled for around 6:00 Central Time with the boys game to follow at Little Wound School.
