The Pierre Governor wrestling team would fall in the championship semifinal and in the third place dual on Saturday in Brookings claiming fourth place at the state tournament.

The Governors would knock off West Central 42-25 but lose Jaxon Ducheneaux to an injury late in the dual. The injury forced the Governors to make a couple of extra moves, but the Watertown Arrows picked up key pins in the second round to defeat the Governors 38-29 as the sixth seed had two upsets to the championship match before losing to Sturgis. The Governors would then head to the third place match where the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles would clip the Govs 31-30 to claim third place. The Governors left the 157 weight class open which included the forfeit win and give the Golden Eagles the 31 points. Overall, the Govs finish at 10-4 on the dual season and will be ready for the Region tournament in Pierre next week Saturday.
