Capitals Split Weekend Getting Three of a Possible Four Points

The Oahe Capitals would pick up three of a possible four points on the weekend with a 7-3 win over Mitchell Friday and a 4-3 overtime loss in Aberdeen on Sunday.

On Friday, after trailing 1-0 after the first period, the Capitals would rally and score the next six goals to lead 6-1 and finish with a 7-3 lead as Barrett Schweitzer would record a hat trick in the win as the Capitals gain the tiebreaker over the Marlins. Aiden Dozark, Andrew Coughlin, Jarron Beck and Devin Dodson all scored.

Then on Sunday, the Caps had to overcome a 3-0 deficit and scored all three goals in two minutes late in the third period as Dylan Dodson, Aiden Dozark and Keegan Kitts would all score to tie the game with three and a half minutes remaining in regulation. However, with 11 seconds remaining in overtime, Quincy Madson would get one home to beat the Caps to pick up the extra point. Oahe, though, owns the tiebreaker over Aberdeen getting three points in the season series. Spencer Anderson made 27 saves on the night.

Oahe is now 9-5-1-1 on the season and will face the Rushmore Thunder on the road on Friday in the beginning of a three game weekend. Coverage will begin at 7:30 Central time with puck drop at 8:00 on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
