Oahe Capitals Boys Face Mitchell, Aberdeen as Lady Caps Finish Season Sunday

The regular season will come to an end on Sunday for the Oahe Lady Capitals while the boys season will continue and heats up with a two game weekend.

The Lady Capitals face Aberdeen on Sunday morning in the final game of the year with the Caps already into the top four. Without a win, the Capitals will for sure be the fourth seed in the first round of the state tournament. Even with a win, the Capitals will still need a lot of help to move up a spot in the standings. But a win against the second ranked Cougars will be a big confidence boost heading into the state tournament.

The boys will play at home on Friday against Mitchell before traveling to Aberdeen on Sunday. The Caps are in a must win game against the Marlins who beat them 8-6 on the opening night of the season. Now the Caps want revenge and a chance to get two big points with the log jam in the middle of the standings. Oahe is currently seventh in the standings but are only seven points out of third with having two games in hand on the Sioux Falls West Flyers. A win against the Marlins and Cougars this weekend puts the Caps controlling their own destiny to finish ahead of both teams.

Coverage on Friday begins at 7:30 with puck drop at 8:00. Then on Sunday the girls will play first at 11:00 with the boys at 3:00. All three games will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
