Tonight, the Sully Buttes Chargers will be at home as the Mobridge-Pollock Tigers will be the opponent as the Chargers face the Class A team.
The Mobridge-Pollock girls come in at 12-4 on the season and sit atop the 6A standings as they have won six of the last seven games including the latest two. The Chargers are at 8-8 and in fifth place in the 6B standings and a win against high win percentage team can help boost them back up the standings to be able to host a region tournament game but the Chargers are 0.6 points behind Potter County with a near two point disadvantage to Herreid/Selby Area in third place in the standings.
In the boys contest, the Mobridge-Pollock Tigers are coming in at 10-4 on the season but had its five game win streak snapped on Saturday in a loss to Todd County as the Tigers are second in Region 6A and a big game against Stanley County looming next week Tuesday. The Chargers, at now 6-8 have the worst record of the five remaining opponents as the Tigers won’t play a single team below .500 after tonight. However, Sully Buttes has won three of four and can up its seed point average with wins down the stretch of the season including tonight.
Tip off of the girls game will be around 6:30 with the boys game to follow at the gym in Onida tonight.
