The Pierre Governors will face the Huron Tigers tonight as the boys travel to the Huron Arena while the girls will host as both teams look to stay inside the top eight of the standings.
The Governor girls picked up a win on Thursday over Yankton getting back into the groove of the offense and back into the win column as they are now 10-5 on the season heading into the final quarter of games. Pierre sits in sixth place in the AA standings while Huron is at 6-8 and in 11th place in the standings. The Tigers split its weekend road trip to Spearfish and Sturgis beating Sturgis on Saturday. This would be the SoDak 16 matchup if the season had ended today.
On the boys side, the two teams are in eighth and ninth place in the standings and if the season would end, the two would be meeting in the SoDak 16, just in Pierre and not in Huron. A win for either one of these teams helps tremendously for a home game in the SoDak 16 at the end of the season. Huron has won three of four including a home sweep of Sturgis and Spearfish this past weekend.
Coverage of the girls game will begin around 6:30 tonight with tip off at 7:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
