Hughes County Commissioners To Meet Tonight

PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Hughes County Commission is holding it’s first February meeting tonight. The Commission will give first consideration to the platting of lots in the Dakota Landing Estates and will hear a report from Planning, Zoning and Equalization on 2023. Commissioners will consider property tax abatements and a property tax trust agreement along with by-laws from the Local Emergency Planning Committee and a new siren activation policy. The Commission will also discuss wildland fire and wage issues, including a wage scale review; highway wages and a payroll schedule. Also on the agenda is a contract in the States Attorney’s office and contracts regarding the Hughes County Jail along with personnel and reports from the County Manager, Liaisons and Auditor. Commissioners are also scheduled to meet in executive session for an employee matter and care of the poor.
