The Oahe Capital boys hockey team would score four goals in the first period, lead by six at the end of two periods and finish off a five goal third period for a 12-1 win over the Brandon Valley IceCats on Saturday at Pink the Rink.
Jarron Beck’s goal along with two goals by Aiden Dozark and another goal from Devon Dodson would put the Caps up 4-1 after one period. Oahe would get run time enacted as Devon Dodson would score again along with Barrett Schweitzer and a second Beck goal. Schweitzer would score twice in the third period and Devon Dodson would finish off the second hat trick of the game with Keller Herman and Dylan Dodson both scoring as the Caps score 10 plus goals for the second time this season and the sixth time they’ve scored eight or more. Schweitzer finishes the night with seven points on three goals and four assists, Dozark with five points on the night and the Dodson brothers each with four points. Spencer Anderson didn’t see a shot on goal in the third period but still made 12 saves on 13 shots as he was sharp allowing a goal or less in each of his last three wins between the pipes.
The Capitals improve to 8-5-1 and will face the Mitchell Marlins at home next Friday and Aberdeen Cougars on the road next Sunday. Both games will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports.
