Capitals Hang on for Win over Rushmore on Pink the Rink Day

The Oahe Lady Capitals would beat the Rushmore Thunder 3-2 Saturday afternoon at the Expo Center, hanging on for two points to secure them a top four spot in the standings.

Micah Buffalo and Dakota McEntaffer would each score a goal in the first period to take a 2-0 lead. McEntaffer would score her second of the game which both goals were her first of the season to give the Caps a 3-0 advantage through two periods. Mallory Chisolm would score both Rushmore girls with 4:07 and 11 seconds remaining in the game to get the Thunder within one, but Rushmore never got a chance to get a shot away in the dying seconds as the Capitals hold on for the win to improve to 8-3-1. Sophia Peschong made 15 saves on 17 shots for her eighth win of the season. The win secures the Caps at least the four seed at the state tournament.
