Pierre Police Busy Last Weekend Making Eight Arrests On Warrants, Incidents

PIERRE, (KCCR) — Last weekend was a busy one for Pierre Police. At last three people where arrested in separate incidents or relating to previous incidents that investigations moved forward with. Captain Dusty Pelle says 45 year-old James Beard was arrested on Friday January 26th in connection to a report of a burglary on January 23rd in the 700 block of North Grand Avenue. Beard was taken to the Hughes County on charges including 3rd Degree Burglary and misdemeanor theft. The next day, January 27th, Pelle says officers arrested 22 year-old Jayden Charger in the 800 block of East Sioux Avenue on an active bench warrant. Investigating officers discovered that Charger had possibly used both marijuana and methamphetamine. Charger was taken to the Hughes County Jail on the bench warrant, ingesting a Substance to Become Intoxicated and Ingestion of a Controlled Substance. A total of eight people were arrested on various charges and warrants last weekend.
