Both Pierre Governor wrestling teams are quickly back on the mat again, this time traveling down to Yankton for the longest road trip of the season for a boys and girls dual.
It’s hard to say the Governor girls haven’t been great this season, but over the last couple of weeks the girls are starting to peak at the right time with more dual wins, team tournament wins and individual tournament wins. Tonight’s ESD dual is big for the Govs to help secure spots in the individual state tournament.
The Governor boys are closing in on the dual state tournament so another win helps etch them into the top seeds with just one more dual remaining after tonight. The Govs are 7-2 and face the 8-9 Yankton Bucks who will not be competing in the state dual tournament so the Bucks will be looking to play spoiler tonight.
The girls will wrestle first with the dual beginning at 5:00 and the boys dual to follow from Yankton High School.
