Stanley County Girls Get First Win in Doubleheader Sweep

The Stanley County boys and girls would win both basketball games on Hall of Fame night over Cheyenne-Eagle Butte on Saturday. The girls picked up their first win 36-27 and the boys 69-59.

On the night Sam Osatrello was inducted into the Stanley County Hall of Fame, the Stanley County girls basketball team would get its first win of the season to start the night off right between the two games. Stanley County would lead 10-3 at the end of the first quarter and 20-13 at the half. The Lady Buffs would lead by eight heading into the fourth and while Cheyenne-Eagle Butte tried to make a run at Stanley County, the Lady Buffs would hold them off and improve to 1-13 on the season.

In the boys game, Stanley County would hit free throws at the end of the game to hold on for a 10 point win to get back to .500 again at now 7-7. Stanley County’s Broch Zeeb would have a game high 22 points with 20 coming in the second half. Paxton Deal finished with 12, Eddie Duffy had 11 and Auston Boxley had 10.

Stanley County will travel to Todd County on Tuesday for a boys and girls doubleheader as the girls will play first around 6:00 and the boys game to follow.
