Governors Fall at O’Gorman for 0-2 Weekend Road Trip

After Friday’s loss to Harrisburg 65-29, the Pierre Governor boys basketball team couldn’t make the comeback happen at O’Gorman on Saturday and would fall 57-46 Saturday afternoon.

Both defenses were solid in the first quarter as the Knights led just 6-5 at the end of the first frame, but O’Gorman would start to pack the punches in the second taking a 23-17 lead and eventual largest lead at the end of the third at 45-31. However, Pierre would battle its way back to being down within six and near miss on a three from pulling within in possession in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t to be for the Govs who drop both games on the weekend and fall to 8-6 with six games remaining in the year. Jett Zabel would lead all scorers with 18 points while Dawson Getz would add 14 for Pierre. OG was led by Nyun Dut’s 15 points and Austin Terveen scoring 13 for the now 7-5 Knights.

Pierre will be off until Friday when they host the Yankton Bucks. Coverage of Friday’s game will be on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports starting at 6:30
