Two weeks later than originally scheduled, the Pierre Governor girls basketball team would run past the Lakota Tech Tatanka 65-34 Thursday night in Pierre.
Pierre jumped out to an 18-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and then 36-16 lead at the end of the half. Pierre forced 18 first half turnovers and forced Lakota Tech into 26 turnovers in total. Reese Terwilliger would have a game high 25 points without playing in the fourth quarter. Lennix DuPris added 13 all coming in the first half. Everyone on the varsity roster got into the game as the Govs started the running clock midway through the third quarter. The Governors improve to 9-3 on the season with the win while Lakota Tech falls to 3-8.
The Govs will now host the O’Gorman Lady Knights on Friday. Tip off from Riggs High School will be at 7:00.
