The Pierre Governor wrestling teams will have a girls and boys dual on the road tonight facing the Brandon Valley Lynx as the boys dual has a lot of attention from the state.
The Governor girls will be looking to continue its strong season as they are undefeated in duals on the season facing the Lynx tonight. The two teams have a common opponent in Brookings in duals and the Governors were able to defeat the Bobcats while Brookings beat the Lynx last week Thursday.
On the boys side, this is a matchup circled on the calendar for both teams. The Governors are defending state champions and the Lynx and Govs have had some great matches over the last couple of years. However, Brandon Valley is at 6-3 in duals with losses to Brookings, Stevens and Sturgis. The Govs are 6-1 and have wins over Stevens and Brooking. Only Sturgis has beaten both the Govs and Lynx on the season. Pierre sits in second place and can help secure a top two spot with a win while Brandon Valley is in sixth place in the dual standings.
The duals begin tonight with the girls varsity to wrestle first at 5:00 and the boys will follow at Brandon Valley high school.
