Pierre, SD — Pierre Post 8 would announce the hiring of River Iverson as the next Head Coach of the Senior Legion baseball team on Wednesday.
A former player in the program, Iverson transitioned to coaching in 2021 upon graduating and finishing his final year playing with the team in 2020. Iverson coached the 15/16’s team from 2021-2022 and then was the assistant coach for the Senior Legion team in 2023. He says he’s thankful for the opportunity…
Iverson has coached several of the players for three years and more for the last two years so the familiarity is already there…
Last year’s team was young going 9-27 as guys gained experience for the next year, and Iverson expects this year’s team to still be young on the senior legion level…
