Pierre City Commission Blasts Through Short Agenda Tuesday Night

PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Tuesday night meeting of the Pierre City Commission was short. Short on agenda items; short on Commissioners and short on length. Only one item was on the agenda besides the weekly consent calendar. Commissioners Todd Johnson and Jamie Huizenga along with City Administrator Kristie Honeywell were absent from the Commission chamber. Remaining Commissioners Vona Johnson and Blake Barringer did approve a request to abate property taxes, presented to the Commission by Finance Officer Twila Hoffrogge…

There were enough members of the Commission to support a quorum and the property tax abatement was approved. Johnson and Barringer had no dialogue, however Mayor Steve Harding did address the news regarding Denver Air Connection and the new baggage and ticketing agreement with Delta Airlines…

Harding is encouraging the community to use the new Twin Cities flights…

The Pierre City Commission meeting was just over nine-and-a-half minutes long.
