Lady Capitals Drop Tough one to Mitchell

The Oahe Lady Capitals would fall to the Mitchell Marlins at home on Saturday afternoon in a 4-3 loss in a game which could decide the third seed.

The Capitals went down midway in the first period 1-0 as Brynlee Sabers would add to her league leading goal scoring knocking in her 25. However, Cami Larson would tie the game at 1-1 late in the first immediately after the Caps killed off a penalty. Ava Lavinger would feed Larson cross-crease to score on a wide-open net. Oahe would take a 2-1 on a power play goal by Brylee Kafka, her 20th of the season. Reese Amick would tie the game at 2-2 before Micah Buffalo would give the Caps the lead back 3-2, but it would Tristen Zimmer tying the game at three heading into the third. The only goal of the third was a power play goal by Makenna Tronnes to pick up the win and improve Mitchell’s record to 7-3-1 while the Caps fall to 6-3-1. Mitchell owns the tiebreak if the two teams are tied in points at the end of the season.
