Capitals Dropped in Penalty Ridden Game against Brookings

The Oahe Capitals would fall 8-3 to the Brookings Rangers on Saturday night at home in a game which saw a combined 40 penalty minutes on 20 penalties.

The game would be tied 2-2 after two periods as Jacob Kahle would score 15 seconds into the game and Devin Dodson would answer to tie the game at 1-1. Brookings would lead 2-1 after the first period on Tre Christopherson’s goal. However, Barrett Schweitzer would score the only goal of the second period to tie the game at 2-2. Then the Rangers would score four power play goals on nine power plays and score six times to take the 8-3 lead. Schweitzer would score his second of the game to cut the deficit to 5-3, but would be called for a penalty to pull any momentum away from the Capitals. Spencer Anderson would make 23 saves on 31 shots on the night consistently seeing pressure on the penalty kill. Brookings finished the game 4-13 on the power play while the Capitals went 1-1.
