Hughes County Moving Meeting To Tonight Because Of MJK Holiday

PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Hughes County Commission is meeting tonight because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The Commission will consider approval of a three-item consent calendar before moving on to regular agenda items. Two public hearings will be held at 5:30 and 5:35 pm. One is for a rezoning request while the second is for a rezoning and platting request. Commissioners will consider approval of the reappointment of Trent Arbach as Highway Superintendent and a joint election agreement with the City of Pierre and Pierre School District, both of which have approved the agreement. The Commission will get the annual register of deeds report and consider a resolution for weight limits on roads for 2024. The agenda also includes consideration of a renewal for emergency management antenna agreements and an extension with Alternative H-R. The Commission will also consider personnel items before hearing various reports. The Hughes County Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
