Tonight, the Pierre Governor girls basketball team will get its chance at a Class A opponent as the Lakota Tech Tatanka will be in town as the Govs look for a third straight win.
This will be the fourth year the Govs and Tatanka will play with Pierre winning on the road last year, but Lakota Tech beating the Governors back in the 2021-22 season. Record wise, the Governors are facing a different Tatanka team than in year’s past. Lakota Tech is 2-6 and have lost all six in a row after losing to Red Cloud on Tuesday. Over the years of this series, the Govs have played Lakota Tech with high quality records. This becomes an important must win for Pierre at the midway point of the season. The Governors, at 6-2, sit in ninth place in the AA standings.
