The Oahe Zap will begin its second season in the Capital City starting on Thursday, May 23 when they host the Fremont Moo as the 2024 Independence League schedule has been released.
The Independence League has added a few teams while also subtracting a few as well. The Badlands Big Sticks will no longer be apart of the league while the Sawtooth Sockeyes will also no longer play teams in the Independence League. However, Plainsmen Baseball and Bison Baseball will be independent traveling teams joining the likes of the Nebraska Prospects to play inside the Independence League. So the Zap will be one of five teams competing for a league title.
The season begins with a four game home stand against the Moo Thursday-Sunday May 23-26, Memorial Day Weekend. As customary, the Zap will be at home on the 4th of July and will play the Bison for a three game stretch starting that Thursday through Saturday, the 4-6. Overall the Zap will have six Friday night home games and four Saturday night home games. Game times are at 6:05 during the week and first pitch will be at 1:11 on Sunday games.
