Stanley County Falls in Tight Contest to Potter County at Home

The Stanley County Lady Buffaloes nearly had its first win of the season but would drop a 39-35 decision at home Tuesday night against the Potter County Battlers.

Stanley County had the game tied at the end of the first quarter at 7-7 before trailing 22-18 at the end of the first half. The four point separation at the half would be the final margin in the game as both teams would score 17 points in the second half as the Lady Buffs drop to 0-11 while the Battlers of Potter County improve to 3-4.

Stanley County was led by Maddie Duffy and Cadence Hand had 12 and 10 points respectively. Camryn Norman also had eight for the Lady Buffs. Olivia Mikkelsen for Potter County would tie the game high with 12 points and was the only double figure scorer for the Battlers. Zoe Meinke had seven and Kayden Cronin finished with six.

The Lady Buffs will be at home again on Thursday when they take on the Lyman Raiders. Tip off of the varsity game is scheduled for around 7:45 at the Parkview Auditorium in Ft. Pierre.
