The Pierre Governor boys basketball team will be in a big matchup tonight as they travel down to Winner to face the Class A Warriors.
It’s a big matchup for the Governors because of the Warriors record and will presumably be the record the Warriors at the end of the season. A Win for the Govs could notch a 50 seed point win as the Warriors come in at 6-1 and the remaining schedule is in favor of Winner staying above the .750 win percentage. Another big reason is the fact that Winner being in Class A, after tonight’s game you want the Warriors to continue to win the rest of the season to help with the seed point. Winner doesn’t play another Class AA team so this game only affects the Governors in Class AA.
Pierre is looking to get back in the win column after a cold shooting afternoon in Sioux Falls on Saturday falling to Washington by 16. Jett Zabel, who is averaging 13.8 points and 10.9 rebounds per game, was held to just three points against Washington.
