Charger Girls, Boys Fall in Doubleheader Sweep to Aberdeen Roncalli

The Sully Buttes Charger girls, playing in their fourth game in seven days, fell to the now 7-1 Aberdeen Roncalli Lady Cavaliers 58-34 in the first game of a doubleheader. The Sully Buttes boys, on the schedule for four games in the next six day, dropped a 54-34 contest to the Aberdeen Roncalli Cavalier boys Monday night at the Aberdeen Roncalli gym.

The Charger girls were obviously leg weary and their shots continuously came up short while the Lady Cavs used balanced scoring with three players in double figures to wear down Sully Buttes even further. The Chargers are now at 4-5 on the season.

Leading the way in scoring was Stevie Wittler finishing with 14 points. The Charger girls will now play Thursday in another girls-boys doubleheader against talented Miller before getting a weekend off.

The Sully Buttes boys came in and tried to hold close to Aberdeen Roncalli trailing 23-15 at the half, but stayed ice cold from the field. The Chargers were led in scoring by Wesley Wittler along with Gavin Colson both scoring 11 points each as the Charger boys are now 2-3 on the season.

The Charger boys get back to their home court tonight against 8-1 Ipswich, along with the Miller doubleheader Thursday night and wrap up the week Saturday afternoon at the Pheasant Shootout against Aberdeen Christian at 4PM.
