Young Men’s Formal Wear In Need As Say Yes To The Dance Collection Drive Enters Final Week

PIERRE, (KCCR) — This week is the final week to donate unused men’s and women’s formal wear for the annual Say Yes to the Dance event. Capital Area United Way Executive Director Holly Wade says Say Yes to the Dance breaks down the financial barriers for high school kids getting ready for formal dances and events…

That means traveling to larger cities like Sioux Falls or Rapid City which also takes valuable time away from families. Wade says they need more than just nice dresses and suits…

Wade says they are seeing a larger need for menswear for young men…

Last year, the event gave away 109 dresses and was completely emptied of menswear. The donation drive ends Friday. Drop off locations for any formal wear are set up at Beck Motors, the Capital Area United Way office at Capital City Campus, Lee Real Estate, the Oahe Family Y-M-C-A or the Pat Duffy Community Center in Fort Pierre.
