The Stanley County Buffaloes will be at home Thursday night as the Buffs take on the the McLaughlin Mustangs in a boys and girls doubleheader.
The Lady Buffs are still looking for its first win of the season after falling 63-23 to Highmore-Harrold on Tuesday. Stanley County is 0-8 on the season and is going to face a tough Mustang squad who are 5-2 and have won three straight to close 2023 and will play for the first time in 2024. It’s a Region 6A matchup and wins are becoming more important for the Lady Buffaloes trying to get themselves going.
The Buffalo boys are now 3-3 on the season after its close win over the Highmore-Harrold Pirates on Tuesday, but will get a big test against the 5-2 Mustangs. McLaughlin is in second place in the Region 6A standings, but for the Mustangs, they’re only 3-2 against South Dakota teams. The Buffs and Mustangs both have played and beaten the Herreid/Selby Area Wolverines.
Tip off of the girls game is scheduled for 6:30 with the boys game to follow at the Parkview Auditorium in Ft. Pierre.
