The team sitting atop the standings, the Oahe Lady Capitals, will end its 2023 calendar year against the Rushmore Thunder on the road in Rapid City tonight.
The Lady Caps are now 5-1-1 and currently Aberdeen and Sioux Falls are the only teams on pace to potentially pass the Capitals in points with a couple of games in hand. But tonight, the only attention is on the Thunder who are only 1-1 on the season and playing its third league game of the season. Rushmore split its only two games so far against the Mitchell Marlins back in the first weekend of December. Being on the road and the record the Lady Caps, this becomes an all important two points to get for either one of these teams. It’s the only game of the weekend for the Caps and Oahe won’t play again until its biggest road trip of the season taking on Brookings and Sioux Falls on the road on Saturday and Sunday, January 13-14.
