Earlier than scheduled, the Oahe Capitals will host the Sioux Falls West Flyers in a Friday matinee to get the New Year’s Weekend started.
The Capitals are coming in after getting three of four points in Sioux Falls back on December 16-17 tying Sioux Falls East and beating Brandon Valley. Oahe is 3-3-1 and are in seventh place in the standings currently. The Flyers are coming in at 4-0 having played last Thursday against Sioux Falls East and defeating them 6-3 behind three third period goals. West has seen 12 different players score in just four games so the depth of both teams will be put to the test this afternoon. Sioux Falls will be heading to Rapid City to face the undefeated Rushmore Thunder on Saturday and Sunday so the Capitals will hope and try and catch the Flyers overlooking them this afternoon.
