PIERRE, (KCCR) — Tonight is the last regular meeting for the Hughes County Commission in 2023. The Commission has a fairly short agenda to work through this evening. The Commission will hear a legislative audit report and get a bridge inspection update from Brosz Engineering. Commissioners will discuss and update of Ultra Software, jail contracts, personnel matters and contingency transfers. The Commission will also hear reports from Finance Officer Thomas Oliva, County Manager Lori Jacobson and any liaison reports from Commissioners. The Hughes County Commission will also meet in executive session for two items. They include personnel and care of the poor. The Hughes County Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm at the Hughes County Courthouse. Also meeting this week is the Hughes County Rail Authority. That board meets on Tuesday at 1:30 pm. That group last meet on January 30th of 19. They have three items on the agenda to approve receipt of the state Department of Transportation Rail Authority, satisfaction of a mortgage and consideration of board members.
