The Pierre Governor girls wrestling team would place second in the second annual Border Battle in North Dakota as the Govs would score a 202.5 behind only Bismarck, North Dakota.

The Governors would have five first place finishers in the final tournament of the 2023 calendar year as Kezrey Benning, Ireland Templeton, Abbi Lewis and Shaylee Speck would all win their respective weight classes. Gemma Stangeland would win the 106B tournament. Kyanne Traversie-Johnson placed second and Dani Ringstmeyer and Emalee Larson would each place third.
