Stanley County Hosts Philip in Doubleheader as Busy Stretch Continues for Girls

The Stanley County Buffaloes will be at home as the Buffs take on the Philip Scotties in a girls and boys doubleheader with just two games remaining before Christmas.

The Lady Buffs will be looking for its first win of the season tonight facing the 1-0 Lady Scotties. Philip has a 47-22 win over Bennett County in its first game of the season. For the Lady Buffs, they are 0-4 with losses to Winner, White River and Miller on the road and a home loss to Chamberlain. However, over the last two years, the Lady Buffs have wins over the Lady Scotties which included a 33-31 win over Philip this past January. This will be the fifth game in the first 10 games of the season for Stanley County.

On the boys side, the Buffs are looking to get back over .500 with a win tonight over Philip. Stanley County scored 73 in the win over Miller last Thursday but was held to just 26 points on Tuesday. Philip would beat Bennett County 61-34 last Thursday in its only game so far this season. The Scotties got the best of the Buffaloes last January in the Jones County Tournament with a 87-37 victory over the Buffs. Last year Philip went 17-5 falling the Region 7A semifinal to Crazy Horse coming up just short of making the SoDak 16.

Tip off of the girls game is scheduled for around 6:30 and the boys game to follow at the Parkview Auditorium in Ft. Pierre.
