Winner Sweeps Stanley County in Doubleheader

Two 30 point victories for the Winner Warriors on Tuesday hosting the Stanley County Buffaloes. The Warrior girls would win 61-31 while the boys would pick up a 56-26 victory.

The Warrior girls would get off to a fast start leading 18-8 at the end of the first quarter and had a 36-13 lead at the half. The Warriors pick up the first win of the season improving to 1-1 while the Lady Buffs fall to 0-4 to start the season with a home doubleheader on the way on Thursday.

In the boys game, the Buffaloes didn’t get the shooting success which they had in the first game against Miller and were held to just 26 points. In contrast, both Kaden Montana and Broch Zeeb each had over 30 points in the Miller win. Montana did finish with the team high 11 on the night while Zeeb finished with eight. Shawn Hammerbeck of Winner had the game high 15 points to lead the Warriors who are now 2-0 on the season as the Buffs fall to 1-1.

Stanley County will host the Philip Scotties on Thursday for a girls and boys doubleheader. The girls will play first around 6:30 with the boys game to follow at the Parkview Auditorium in Ft. Pierre.
