Stanley County Travels to Winner to Face Warriors in Doubleheader

The Stanley County Buffaloes will travel down to Winner tonight for its second doubleheader of the season as the girls will look for its first win and the boys to remain unbeaten.

The Lady Buffaloes have had a treacherous start to the season playing three games in five days and will already have its fourth game in the eight days and will play five games in a total of 10 days. Stanley County is 0-3 to start the year with losses to Chamberlain, Miller and White River. On the other side, Winner has only played once so far, a 58-44 loss to the Wagner Red Raiders. Winner is returning after a 15-7 season losing in the SoDak 16 qualifying game of the Region 7A tournament and return six seniors for the 2023-24 season.

The Buffalo boys are looking to build off its win last Thursday in Miller. Kaden Montana and Broch Zeeb each had over 30 points in the win and the Buffs will be looking to add more scoring to the mix heading into tonight. Winner is 1-0 with a 52-48 win over Wagner in the opening game of the year. The Warriors have just three seniors on this year’s team.

Tipoff of the doubleheader is scheduled to begin around 6:15 with the girls game with the boys game to follow in Winner.
