Over 250 Wish Lists Remain In Cheyenne River Youth Project Holiday Toy Drive

EAGLE BUTTE, (KCCR) — Officials with the Cheyenne River Youth Project are hoping they can fill out the wish lists for children on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation this Christmas. Over 250 wish lists remain to be adopted as a part of an annual toy drive. Youth Project Executive Director Julie Garreau says there are several ways to support the effort. Their website, lakotayouth.org/toy-drive has wish lists to choose from for adopting a child’s list. The Cheyenne River Youth Project also has wish list on Amazon that will allow the direct purchase of wish list items. The toy drive is the Youth Project’s largest and longest running program. The program started in 1990 and serves over one-thousand children in 20 communities scattered across an area the size of Connecticut. Children who submit a list will get three to four list items and will receive needed winter clothing. The Youth Project is also holding a Winter Solstice Star Quilt raffle to support the toy drive. Tickets can be purchased online through Christmas. The quilt will be given away on December 29th. Website links to help are included posted below:
