Rath Selected for Second Team All-American

Mackenzie Rath, a Pierre native and goalie for Minnesota State has been selected for the second team All-American after ranking second and fourth in the country in save percentage and goals against average.

Rath is just the 15th soccer player to receive All-American status at Minnesota State. Rath’s save percentage was a remarkable .917 while also allowing 0.374 goals against per match. Rath’s career came to an end with the Mavericks, but she leaves as the all time saves leader with 244 and ranking second with 36 career shutouts, third in goals against average at 0.54, save percentage at .879 and wins with 41. She appeared in all 20 matches on the season and started in 19 of them.

Minnesota State finished the 2023 season with an 11-4-5 record, but fell in the first round of the Division II NCAA Tournament.
