Miller Girls Comeback, Stanley County Boys Hold on for Opening Wins

The Stanley County Buffaloes and Miller would play the first doubleheader of the season with the Miller Rustlers coming back for a 46-38 girls game win and the Buffalo boys holding on for a wild 73-69 win.

In the girls game Stanley County would lead 29-25 heading into the fourth quarter but a 21 point fourth for Miller helped comeback and hold on to beat the Lady Buffaloes in its first game of the season. Stanley County falls to 0-2. Mattie Duffy had a game high 15 points while Cadence Hand had 14 for the Lady Buffaloes. Paige Werdel had 14 points and Gracen Werdel had 10.

The boys game would have three different 30 point scorers as Kaden Montana would lead the way for the Buffaloes with a career high 36 points while Broch Zeeb would add another 32. The two totaled for 68 of the 73 points. Alex Schumacher had a 45 point night for the Rustlers who drop its first game of the season.

The Lady Buffs will play again on Saturday with a trip to White River while the boys will wait until Tuesday for a boys and girls doubleheader in Winner.
