Stanley County Starts Season with Home Game against Chamberlain

The Stanley County Lady Buffaloes will open up the season tonight at home against the Chamberlain Cubs with the Lady Buffs again looking to improve on its win total.

This is the third year for Keely Bracelin, the head coach for the Lady Buffs and the team doubled its win total from year one to year two. Stanley County finished last season at 6-15 falling to Dupree in the first round of the Region 6A tournament. However, Stanley County loses just two players from last year’s team, Kori Gabriel and Alejandra Juarez both graduated but the team returns Mattie Duffy, Cadence Hand and Rachel Rungee for their senior year.

Chamberlain would finish 5-16 last season losing the last 11 games of the year and 16 of the last 18 games. Chamberlain though, did beat Stanley County to begin the season with a 56-33 victory last year. The Cubs will have six seniors return for the 2023-24 year.

Tipoff of the first game of the season will begin around 7:45 at the Parkview Auditorium in Fort Pierre.
