Edman Sees First Two Starts, Black Hills State Splits Weekend in Colorado

Pierre’s Jackson Edman would start for the first time in his collegiate career in his freshman year as Black Hills State would fall to Regis State on Friday before defeating Colorado Springs on Saturday.

Friday night, the Yellowjackets would fall 66-54 as the Regis State Rangers would outscore Black Hills by nine in the second half in the first game of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schedule. Edman would start and play 16 minutes in total tallying three points with a bucket while being fouled. Edman would also grab two rebounds and have an assist in the loss. Joel Speckman and Ronnail Tape would each have 10 points to lead BH.

On Saturday, Edman would start again and play 19 minutes and score his season high five points while grabbing another two rebounds with an assist. Four players would hit double figures led by Matthew Ragsdale scoring 16 points in the first RMAC win of the season over Colorado Springs.

The Yellowjackets are 3-5 on the season and 1-1 in the RMAC with home games coming up on Friday and Saturday against Metropolitan State University of Denver on Friday and Colorado School of Mines on Saturday. Both games will be at the Donald E. Young Center in Spearfish.
