Capitals Outlast Huron for First Win of the Season Behind Dozark’s Four Goals

The Oahe Capitals would pick up an 8-5 win on Saturday on the road against Huron to get in the win column for the first time in 2023 at now 1-1.

Bridger Babcock would score his first varsity goal to get the Capitals on the board first before Keegan Kitts would also score his first varsity goal to give Oahe a 2-0 lead, but Ethan Busch would make it 2-1 at the end of the first period. The two teams would trade three goals each in the second period as Devin Dodson would make it 3-1 and Aiden Dozark would score twice to keep the Capitals in the lead at 5-4 at the end of two periods. Dozark would complete the hat trick to start the third period Kitts would make it 7-5 and Dozark would score his fourth goal to make it 8-5. Jarron Beck would add three assists while Kitts, Andrew Coughlin and Barret Schweitzer would all have two assists. Spencer Anderson had 21 saves on 26 shots.

The Capitals at 1-1, will face Sioux Falls East, Watertown and Aberdeen Friday through Sunday. All three games will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
