Today Final Day For Annual DOT Snowplow Naming Contest

PIERRE. (KCCR) — Today is the final day to take your shot at naming a South Dakota Department of Transportation snow plow. This is the fourth year for the contest which helps the D-O-T raise awareness of winter driving and sharing the highway with plow equipment. Staff in the 12 regions will vote for their favorite name. Those finalized names will be added to the Blizzard Bracket in March. Over 70-thousand votes were cast for the best name in the state last year. The Bracket winner was Blizzard Buster, a name submitted from the Sioux Falls area. In the Pierre area, previous winners include Lewis and Clark, Sno Problemo and Little Plow on the Prairie. Winner aera winners include Plowabunga, Plow Patrol and Walter the Salter.
