Eagle Butte Woman Sentenced For Stealing Cheyenne Sioux Tribe Police Vehicle

PIERRE, (KCCR) — An Eagle Butte woman has been sentenced for her role in stealing a police vehicle belonging to tribal police on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation. U-S Attorney Alison Ramsdell says 30 year-old Jacie Toki was sentenced to three months of federal prison time with 18 months of supervised release after the prison term. Toki was indicted on a larceny charge by a federal grand jury in April and entered a guilty plea in August. Ramsdell says Toki stole a Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services patrol vehicle after a roadside encounter with Tribal law enforcement in February near Lantry. Toki drove away from the scene and abandoned the vehicle in a ditch outside Lantry. She was also ordered to pay 100-dollars to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
