Northwestern Wins Defensive Slugfest to Advance in NAIA Playoffs

The Northwestern Red Raiders would shutout Dordt College in the second round of the NAIA football playoffs with a 7-0 win in a defensive throwdown.

The Red Raiders would score the only touchdown of the game in the first offensive possession as Jalyn Gramstad would find Konnor McQuillan for a 12 yard pass and it would be all the scoring in the game. Northwestern would stop every possession forcing four punts, three turnover on downs and two fumbles. Northwestern remains undefeated at now 12-0 while Dordt finishes the year at 9-3. Onida’s, Morris Hofer did not play in the game.

Northwestern will now host the 12 seed Saint Xavier of Illinois next Saturday. Game time is still to be determined.
